Shanghai, China

Oriental Pearl radio and TV tower by night. This unusual broadcasting tower is located in the city of Shanghai in the Peoples Republic of China. The tower is very tall, 1535 feet tall to be exact. Shanghai is a large city with a population of just over 13 million! 'Minolta X-700 35mm SLR' (Click for larger view)
Close-up of the lower section of the Oriental Pearl radio and TV tower. If you look closely you will notice a section of a sky-crane just below the sphere. The crane was in use building a shopping mall at the time this photo was taken (about 10:25pm). 'Minolta X-700 35mm SLR' (Click for larger view)
This is the world's third tallest building the 'Jin Mao Building' housing 'The Grand Hyatt', located in Shanghai, Peoples Republic of China. The outer surface looks to be stainless steel and almost looks like external scaffolding. The height is 420 meters (1381 feet). 'Minolta X-700 35mm SLR' (Click for larger view)

Interior view of 'The Grand Hyatt' in the 'Jin Mao Building'. Shanghai, Peoples Republic of China. This photo was taken from the observation deck down through the center of the building. Even though it appears to be a long way down, the view is only about one third down the height of the building to the 56th floor. 'Minolta X-700 35mm SLR' (Click for larger view)
